Difference between Residence 7 and Residence 9 windows

The Residence Collection is a luxury brand of windows that offers a high-quality standard of a window system that is designed to complement the style of your home in Leicestershire.

The Residence Collection is one of the best-performing ranges of timber effect uPVC windows today, and it was originally created to replace the 19th-century window styles. Many people love their heritage look home, but the windows are often single-glazed and not effective in insulating the property.

Thanks to Residence Collection windows, you can have the best of both worlds. Using the latest technology and security features, the Residence Collection offers a top-quality window solution for all types of properties.

The Residence Collection offers an extensive range of windows and doors but two of the most popular options are the Residence 7 and Residence 9 Windows.

Key differences between Residence 7 and Residence 9 windows

  • Number of chambers

The biggest difference between the two Residence Collection windows is the number of chambers it is made up of. The R7 window has 7 chambers, whereas the R9 has 9 chambers. By using multiple numbers of chambers, the windows are able to improve the thermal efficiency of the property and both can achieve A+ energy ratings with 28mm double or 44m triple glazing.

  • Width of profile

The R7 has a profile that is 75mm wide and the R9 system has a 100mm wide profile.

  • Weather bar

The R9 system features a raised moulded bar that runs horizontally across the window. Its function is to shed the dripping water and to boost the strength of the mullion. This feature keeps in touch with traditional aesthetics and performance.

  • Corner joints

The joints of the two windows differ slightly. The Residence 9 system is butted together using the butt hinge option that assists with retaining the original timber window look.

The Residence 7 window collection can be available with a wide range of options for joints.

  • Colours and finishes

You’ll be pleased to know both ranges are available in many different colours and finishing options. This includes unfoiled matte finishes and wooden colours.

Which window system is right for my home?

The Residence 7 system is ideal for those who are looking for an authentic flush look but with the added advantage of a modern energy-efficient window/door system.

The Residence 9 collection of windows offers a timber alternative to complement a heritage-style home. The timber aesthetics windows are built with a modern PVC-U material.
